What We Did

The Saxony condominiums is named after “Little Saxony”, the New Orleans Bywater neighborhoods former nickname, which was once home to German immigrants from Saxony Germany. The site is located just 3 blocks from the Mississippi River on the corner of Bartholomew and Burgundy Streets.

Standing 7-stories high with 104,000 gross square feet, the Saxony has one, two, and three bedroom condos. Building amenities include 89 covered parking spaces, electric car stations, a rooftop terrace with pool, fitness room, dog walk, bike storage, and meeting room. Condo amenities include custom cabinets, quartz countertops, gas range, wood and scored concrete flooring, and private balconies and terraces.

The structure of the building is post-tensioned concrete and loadbearing metal studs. The multilayered façade features vertical brick masses connecting inset balconies with a stucco penthouse projecting above the masses. Large “floating frame” elements draw attention to the building entrances, while smaller projecting frames around windows gives the façade depth and character.
