What We Did

Located in historic downtown Gretna, this prominent bank building has served as a community anchor since its construction in 1919. Gulf Coast Bank desired to restore the existing historic façade while updating the interior with a design reflective of their company philosophy and branding identity.

The stone and brick clad façade has been meticulously restored and new energy efficient steel windows replaced unoriginal glass block. The interior features an open-concept, with freestanding desks replacing standard divided teller stations. Tile and carpet help to define different areas while achieving a more relaxed collaborative banking lounge.

Original banking offices on the second and third floors were replaced with residential apartment suites, accessed from a private lobby. Residents have sweeping views of the Mississippi River and New Orleans skyline from the rooftop terrace and resident lounge.
