What We Did

As a result of the success of Parkview Elementary, the Recovery School District approached Rozas-Ward to design two high schools based on the Parkview model. Both Edward Livingston and Marion Abramson School share the same floor plan, with an emphasis on sustainable design principles applied to high school education. Due to the orientation of this facility in relation to the sun, however, the building addresses shading in methods appropriate to its site which are different than those required on either the Parkview or Livingston campuses. Additionally, the courtyard space, which serves as an outdoor learning environment, has been designed as a multi-level terrace to enhance learning and provide an enlivened entrance for after-hours functions.
