What We Did

This Iberia Bank branch was designed to be nestled among a limb of a different type. Resting among century-old Live Oak trees, we felt it was important for the building’s architecture to pay homage to the grandeur of its setting of forestation and large scale residential mansions. Our team wished to preserve and respect these homes, and brought a classical architectural style that conveys the same ideals of timelessness and endurance as the bank’s neighbors.

To reinforce the classical nature of the architecture, the floor plans and exterior were organized by a primary and secondary axis of distribution, yielding a systematic and orderly composition. Our team designed the exterior portico and balcony with a series of large Tuscan columns, entablature and balustrade. This underlined the architectural style, while serving as a liaison between the public realm of the urban streetscape and the private building interior. When it came time to plan and design the landscaping, we paid great attention to the green characteristics found in the St. Charles corridor, and bringing that same look and feel to the bank. When all was said and done, we’re proud to say we created and instant classic.
