Heather Cooper, AIA, NCARB
Architect
Growing up in a rural Vermont town, Heather was fascinated by the architecture, density, and history of big cities. She invested in that attraction by attending Northeastern University, where she achieved a BS in Architecture. She further engaged her love of historic buildings by obtaining a Master of Preservation Studies along with a Master of Architecture from Tulane University in New Orleans.
Heather’s fascination is now her career as she specializes in preservation or adaptive reuse of historic projects, though she also has experience in healthcare, education, multifamily and commercial design. She prefers to reimagine how an existing structure can breathe new life with a different use. In New Orleans, she has her work cut out for her with its rich, historic architecture ripe for reuse.
Outside of the office, Heather loves sports, especially soccer, and spending time with her family, including husband, Lee, daughter, Casey, and lovable dog, Pru.
